    Artist History
The Daybreak were born on November 22, 2001 when fellow university students Sumon Mukherjee, Mike Dawson, and Rob Domagala came together with the goal of making the best music - period. Bent on bringing melody and rock'n'roll back to the music scene, the trio started writing and rehearsing their own material, quickly amassing a strong collection of songs. With Mukherjee taking vocals and guitars, Dawson on drums and percussion, and Domagala on guitars, the trio felt they had something special, which developed each passing week with the constant addition of new songs. Drawing influence from the UK indie scene and the Madchester movement of the 90s, the group keeps listening to favourite acts like the Stone Roses, Oasis, Ride, and The Verve for inspiration. Classic acts like The Beatles, The Jam, The Who, and the Buzzcocks were also studied for inspiration. With so many ideas and influences being culled from, the sound of The Daybreak rapidly began to develop, as did the band's set-list. By the New Year it became clear that a bass player had to be found post haste in order to allow the band's rapid develoment to continue its progression. Thomas Preston was brought in to fill the bass responsibilities, and The Daybreak officially became a four-piece in March. With an average age of 21, the youth of the band provides a wide-eyed and eager vitality to their music. The goal of the band is quite simple: Be the best and the biggest. Take the UK, take North America - take the world. Playing music for as many people as possible is the dream.
