    Artist History
If this is the first time you've stumbled across TAYLORED, it certainly won't be the last. In the past 500 days, these boys from Toronto have emerged as formidable newcomers on the pop/punk scene. With growing international exposure, the band has drummed up a grassroots fanbase that is quickly spreading the TAYLORED word. Sometimes referred to as "The artists formerly known as HIGH LO FI," TAYLORED made the decision to change their name in summer 2001, hoping fans would adopt the Bon Jovi philosophy of "it's all the same, only the names have changed." Already dubbed "the next big thing" by Boss Tuneage, the UK/JAPAN label that released their first single in Europe and Japan in November 2000, TAYLORED has recently concentrated their efforts on this side of the Atlantic. April 2001 brought the North American release of THREE SIDED SINGLE, the catchy and melodic precursor to their first full-length album, which is currently under production. In addition to the Boss Tuneage accolades, TAYLORED garnered themselves a spot in the June 2001 issue of Teen People's Summer Music Special, as one of just 10 Bands to Watch. All this attention befits a band that has already licensed their song "ONE TIMES ONE" for use in the new MTV show "Undergrads," and their song "ADRENAL EYES" for use in the Disney series "In A Heartbeat." "ADRENAL EYES" will also be heard in the upcoming movie "Wishmaster 3." TAYLORED has also been commissioned to write a theme song for SONY/MICROPLAY's TV series "Game Attics", and Toronto film producer Ari Grief has contracted the band to write for his upcoming film. Singer/Songwriter Matt Taylor, together with bassist/singer Mark Wright, guitarist Mike Taylor and drummer Pete Maniatis, certainly live up to their mantra of "WE WANNA PLAY THE MUSIC THAT WE WANNA HEAR!" As the boys continue writing new material and playing to new audiences, their unique blend of solid guitars and infectious lyrics is not only insuring their newfound popularity, but earning them interest from major labels. So don't be the last to figure it out. Listen to TAYLORED and decide for yourself.

Wal Rashidi, MEAN STREET (Orange County, California): "Canada has a great new act on the scene called TAYLORED! A very progressive, mature sounding, poppy, punk band, with a tinge of new wave influence. TAYLORED formed in Jaunuary 2000 and already have a hot CD single titled "THREE SIDED SINGLE" available. Look for these guys to do something BIG!!" Steve Barnard, SCANNER MAGAZINE (London, UK): "Toronto's TAYLORED deliver some pretty rocky and catchy tunes. Imagine ALL's songs, played in the vien of SUGAR with the pop suss of late REDD KROSS and you're there. The guitars are really solid and amped while the vocals carry some succulent harmonies that actually sound like thought has gone into their construction, rather than just thrown in at the appropriate time. "Let Go!" features a totally off the wall guitar riff while the other two tracks certainly kept things moving. If you miss SUGAR, this could be the band for you." James McQuiston, NEU FUTUR (Ohio, U.S.A): "Very professional pop punk/rock with simple arrangements and very catchy lyrics... TAYLORED uses various effects to mix up the songs in a truly innovative way and this may be their ticket for worldwide recognition. I would not be surprised if I see these guys on MuchMusic, as they definitely have talent. Kudos to Mike Scope, the guitarist in the band, for the range at which he plays his blistering licks and longing, thought-inducing riffs. I would suggest contacting the band and picking up "Three Sided Single" before a big label picks them up. It may take them a while to get to your request, as both Disney and Sony have both used TAYLORED to write songs for shows." Mark Griffiths, KERRANG MAGAZINE (UK): "Quirky and poppy is the order for this Toronto quartet called TAYLORED. 'THREE SIDED SINGLE' bounces along in a fun, inoffensive way. Like a pop version of Sugar or Foo Fighters." JK Penney, SATAN STOLE MY TEDDY BEAR: "There is a growing body of evidence suggesting that Canada's Does Everyone Stare? Records has a fine roster of bands. TAYLORED'S Three Sided Single is a quickie of endearingly skillfull alternative rock; focused, tight, filled with memorable vocal lines, and recorded with a caustic edge giving the songs an impressive spark. I'm even tempted to say "post-punk" as the resemblance to early Jawbox is uncanny, but these guys are heavier on the pop tip. It is, in any event, pretty cool. " Andy, WWW.INDULGED.COM: "Straight from Toronto, Ontario comes the pop/punk rock tunes of TAYLORED. Their simple, yet catchy tunes have already received attention from MTV, Disney, and Sony. Their latest release, Three Sided Single, is home to three decent feel-good pop songs. If you're into American Hi-Fi, Blink 182, or Sum 41, then try listening to "One Times One". The song has already been licensed for usage on MTV, so we'll be hearing from TAYLORED soon. Make sure to buy this release if you like that song because this band is probably sorting out record deals right now (if they haven't already finished)."
