    Artist History
I have been haunting churchs and playing the piano anywher i could find one since i was a child the combination of being extremly musical as well as artistic and wrapped into a models body with a face that has paid my rent for years has made my life very intresting. Musically I was a classically trained pianist who at the young age of 11 was a rising little star in the world of hopeful concert pianist. But one day as much as I love beethoven mozart chopain and bach I decided I wanted to write music. Not just play every one else so that was the start. I discovered not only could I write but I always had ideas, the never stoped, there was always a song in my head. My parents afraid I would get a big head and or be sucked into show biz land tried to keep me hiddin in the middle of nowhere. Leaving my only outlets the church pianos and the ones i would attack at local malls. This tormented me because I wanted to be a singer a musician a rock star, or something like that. So when I was 17 i left home to begin my mission to make it. Growing up very protected from the real world, ( i was self educated and never went to school) I assumed people where all like me. I was wrong. So i moved downtown to atlanta, there I was hanging out and spotted by a sinead oconners former manager who after hearing me on a piano and singing tried to manage me. Me being 18 and knowing nothing about the music bussiness ended up learning many things about it really fast. After learning that I didnt know enough about the bussiness and not wanting to get stuck in a contract for years without understanding what I was signing decided to educate myself first. So I went on a mission to raise enough money to build a studio move to new york and do it all alone. So I did I modeled all over the world ate next to nothing saved all my money built a home studio moved to New York. Then I did an album with David Kirby who was my best friend, we put it online. Then we recieved an email from Brian Sirgutz, who was at the time working at elementree records so he taught david and me many things. David taught me about producing althoug I am not a producer I do it but I ALSO like working with producers as well as other artist because they help me make sense of some of the things I cannot. Regardless david and I went to focus on a our solo works. Once david left I started writing music alone as well as learning how to produce. Within a two months of doing music alone I was approched by an indie label which is putting out my first solo project NeverLAnd out in August. From here I am looking to grow as an artist, work with other artist/producers and continue to move forward learn develop and grow. I am currently based in New yORK and am always looking to make new connections with fans as well as those within the industry. Currently if you would like to hear the last work I did with aproducer you can buy Beta or Download the music

love your music. Absolutely love it! "EpedEmEic" is great, as is "almond butter". As great as they are, "MiniStry" is even better. On the other (or just another?) side of your talent -- Vocally, your dreamy, heady voice fits perfectly with songs like "miss you" & "chocolate dope". Very remenescent of the work produced by Delerium, with a touch of Cocteu Twins... And these are only a few of the tracks I've heard... I'm still listening. coming this summer to you Jillian Ann is a create-a-holic. Jillian Ann had an impactful independent film career, an interesting modeling career (that took her all over the world) and now, like a colorful songbird, sitting on a rickety branch, in the middle of all the seasons at once, Jillian Ann has launched herself into the world of music. Releasing, Neverland, via Emperor Penguin Recordings, Jillian Ann gives a unique gift to the world. A glittery, sparkling gift that only she can give. A complete package of wondrous sounds, visions and thoughts. In a root-nature, Jillian Ann’s music is almost Sopor Aeternus-ish minus the blatant sadness and overall goth vibes - although - a slight thread of both are definitely threaded throughout the songstress’ structure skeletons. The music can also be compared to the likes of Enya, Love Spirals Downwards or perhaps, even, Black Tape For A Blue Girl - Projekt Records’ flagship ensemble. The best way to venture into the mind and heart of inexorably beautiful Jillian Ann though, is simply to become enlightened by a few of her very own quotes: “I have lived many lives. I think I am a cat and I am on number seven.” “As a child I went to church at least three times a week, but I learned that God hung out near the piano and in the woods. I found him in the fields next to Percy, Byshe, Sheally, and Beethoven.” “My childhood was beautiful and strange.” A friend of hers, named Anastasia, once had this to say regarding the brilliant Jillian Ann: “Sometimes she models nude. Sometimes she goes to church. She says she can’t function without her spiritual life. People are either intensely infatuated with her - or call her odd. Her modeling agent says she doesn’t look like anyone else. Someone said she looked like a witch - mysterious.” To us, here at Emperor Penguin Recordings, Jillian Ann is a pride and joy. The exact type of artist that puts a neon pink feather in our caps. Jillian Ann is a joy to work with, an inspiration to listen too, and most of all - an emotional blast of controlled energy, which we are thrilled to have aboard our vessel.
