    Artist description
We've acquired a bit of a habit of taking the whole range of indie music and combining it. We have very mellow, very acoustic and grassroots moments that reflect our interest in the Brit Mod scene. Then we have our punkish, Pixies meet Sleater-Kinney days. So really...we're our interpretation of the ethos behind our favorite scenes (we're riot grrls at heart, though).

    Artist History
We started back in March of 2002 as Yoko Ono Kills, a very definite Pavement sounding Indie Pop band. Long-term members of that outft were Jonathan Schmalz on rhythm and acoustic guitars plus lead vocals, Connor on lead guitar, drums, and vocals, Morgan Davis on lead and sometimes bass guitars, Kyle Garrison exclusively on bass and Cameron Long exclusively on drums. By May, we'd become Same As It Ever Was and Jon and myself (Morgan Davis) formed the side project Donald, Please Come Home with him&I doing eveything with friends such as Clayton Scott and Ryan Valdez taking over bass here and there. Soon, Same As It Ever Was was destroyed and the side project became the main thing. An 8-track EP called It's Still Dark was finished during early June, with a nice ensemble of mainly acoustic, bass-lead tracks that Jon and I did late at night. Drums, with the exception of one track, were conveniently left off the album. By late June, an unfortunate mishap led to Connor being brought in and we'd moved on to working on a second release of more heavy tracks, of which The Ocean was the first. Now Jon&I have decided to return to the Fountains of Wayne ideal of keeping the group a duo with friends brought in for performance only.
