Press Reviews
There’s so many different directions (for a debut album). All I mean is most bands fix on what they want their sound to be and stick to it - variations on a theme. Buswell is more schizophrenic than that....I guess in part this comes from the fact it’s all bedroom-studio produced and (Buswell) tends to avoid live excursions.
But there are some perfect pop songs here...and this could see him turn into a bit of a cult if this CD gets enough exposure.
For all it’s self-battering lyrics it’s a really confident album. Each song is crafted to perfection, no shoddy independent badly-produced-ness here. All done through the belief in the power of music (and the spirit of Buswell)....It’s an open attempt at honesty which you rarely get...and it works because there’s obviously a lot of talent and hard work involved. And I think it’s very brave and very impressive and you should definitely get hold of a copy.
