    Artist History
Chronicle had his first viewings of hip hop when Kris Kross came out with their single: "Jump" and Coolio came out with his single: "Gangsta's Paradise." However, his musical tastes were general with not much emphasis on any particular genre. The few rap CDs that he bought were only purchased for a song or two and he didn't give much of a listen to any of the other songs. But as soon as he took a listen to entire CDs, the door to the rap world was blown off its hinges. Although Chronicle's introduction to rap music was rather late, after the deaths of 2pac and Notorious B.I.G. as well as the passing of arguably one of rap's greatest years, 1993-1994, he began to purchase record after record. Rap went from being something that he listened to occasionally to being a musical genre that he listened to constantly, almost whenever he had a chance to. This near obsession with rap led to an interest in becoming involved in the culture. Chronicle purchased a set of Gemini turntables and some records with the intention of becoming a DJ. Without having a teacher of any sorts, he searched the Internet for suggestions and help on learning how to scratch. Through this search, he came across http://www.rapboard.com, a site where up-and-coming emcees can post their lyrics and songs. Chronicle looked through some of the pages of lyrics, finding some that were good and some that were shit, and he thought that this might be the thing for him. Signing up under the name of Black2White (the name of the record label he and his friends were naively thinking of starting while they were sophomores), he started to post lyrics of verses that he wrote as his intention of becoming a DJ took a backseat to his aspiration to become an MC. He figured that he was learning a lot and improving greatly in a short amount of time. However, the slow death of the site as well as a name change to eXquisite brought him to http://www.rapmusic.com, probably the biggest online emcee community on the Internet. He continued to drop text lyrics with the thoughts that he was pretty good. However, when he made his transition to recording, he found out that he had been learning all wrong. With absolutely no conception of flow and delivery, he began recording and posting songs, which led to bad reviews and the knowledge that he had a lot of work to do. After a while and some improvements, he wanted to start over and changed his name from eXquisite to Maxim. He was still not up to par, but the improvements were noticeable. But due to his focus on flow and delivery, the quality of his lyrics dropped enormously. Even with this, he still needed a lot of work. But then, all of a sudden, he figured it out. He finally understood what flow was and how an increased breath control would work wonders on his songs. He changed his name to Chronicle after finding out that Maxim was taken by someone and started over once again. This time, though, his songs began receiving good feedback. He decided to wait until his delivery was near-perfect and to wait until around his second year in college before even thinking about releasing a debut LP. In exchange, he decided to release Internet-only EPs that will be for sale through his MP3.com site as well as mixtapes and compilation CDs. His first Internet-only EP is The Introduction, featuring production from Rock It Productions, ProBeatz, NONSENSE, Sindustry, Mr. Royce Productions, Kaz 1, Nkredible, SoLETERNiTY, and Bay Root Productions, as well as featuring Terrorist Child and SinChyld Tha Unholy. In addition to working on The Introduction, Chronicle has produced a compilation/mixtape titled The Gift. He chose to produce this compilation in order to complete his senior project, a project required of all seniors at his high school to graduate. The Gift features Chronicle, Point Game, Wizdumb, Nepharius, Koffee Black, Terrorist Child, Damien, Team Alliance, Nimrod, Nyce Quota, DZK, Mo0n ShYnE, and Phamous. Chronicle's tracks used beats from Noviss, Rushorcist Productions, and enigmabeats. This CD is limited to just 100 copies.
