Artist History
Steven is a strong male vocalist from Greenock on the West Coast of Scotland. He has always enjoyed performing. From the age of 11, he started taking part in many talent shows and events. He has had no former vocal training or been to any stage schools. Rrecently Steven became The Inverclyde Megastar of 2001 with Garfunkle’s classic "Bright Eyes". After this happened, it set Steven on his way, and he started taking his music much more seriously. He is currently looking for management and/or production deal to get him kick started and give him guidance since up to now, he's managed himself.
This past year, Steven has been really busy. He attended college to study Music Performance & Promotion but things did not work out, and he thought it would be better if he left. He then started to work on making a new name for himself and getting himself known. But since Steven was on a low budget and had no help, he was unsure what to do. He was then advised by music professional to build a website on which to promote himself. He did, and the website has been a great success. He has even had messages posted on it by his favourite stars wishing him luck.
Although Steven was talented and had a small fan base, there was one problem. He had no money. Being registered blind and unable to work in a full time job, he had to rely only on his benefits. He started to take a small part out of each month’s benefits to buy original tracks from “SongForSale,” an online publishing company who also supplied Steven with some freebies because they loved his attitude towards life.
He was then approached by songwriter, Mark Sheeky, who came across Steven's website and asked him to record a song for "Song For Europe 2003" called "I Love You For Your Money.”
Steven of course accepted the offer.
After leaving himself with no money for about 3 months to pay for recording costs, Steven made his way to Core Studios to record a MASSIVE 7 songs in just 9 hours!! 6 of which would be for Steven's 1st demo CD. He co-wrote one of the tracks. The other track was for "Song for Europe".
Steven is hoping to get back into the studio soon to record 2 or 3 more songs and hopes to also perfect the songs, which he has already recorded. He is now realising that 7 songs in 9 hours was a bit much but is proud he did it and proud of his tracks.
Recently Steven’s track “Gotta Get Back To My Heart” was picked to be played on talentSTAR.biz: The Radio Show. Also “Ben”, “Don’t want to lose you” & “Gotta Get Back To My heart” were all played to kick start new online station “EZ Radio”
Steven has become a member of American based online company “StarPolish”, which allows acts to promote & sell their music. Through this Steven has had a lot of exposure & his 1st CD charted at No.2 in the StarPolish chart.
Steven had also recently been asked to perform in numerous major local events where he wowed crowds greater than 1,000 people. He knows this business is hard work and is willing to work very hard and make those all-important sacrifices.
