Artist History
We first wanted to start a band in 2001 when we saw school bands playing and dream night (something at our school). So that Christmas everyone got instruments and we all taught our selves how to play our own instruments. We first started out called Spin cycle back in 2001, which had James as bass, Beau as guitar and Johnny as guitar. We did not have a drummer. We mostly just played cover songs with out drums. We found out that there was already a band called spin cycle in the states, so we changed our name many times cause we could not find a good name. We changed to such names as bottoms up, eat your greens, don’t tell mum and many more. We were called don’t tell mum for a long time. In that time Daniel joined the band as our drummer and song writer. Chris thought he was in the band as our singer, but he wasn’t, and he could not get it through his head that we did not want him or need him in our band. We got pretty sick of don’t tell mum (and it sounds lame) so we spent ages trying to think up a new name for our band. Finally Beau thought of the name punkarate so we changed it. All the name is just punk and karate combined. Johnny quit the band because he was bitchen that we never listen to what he had to say about the band or something like that, I don’t really know I wasn’t listening to him when he left. Now it is just Beau on guitar, James on bass and vocals and Daniel on drums. We write our own songs now but we still play some covers as well. We are a 3 piece punk band with very catchy tunes and lyrics. |
