Press Reviews
review taken from http://www.calamityproject.com
"i first heard i spoke when one of their band members posted on our message board about their cd, and i checked out an mp3 of theirs, and i immediately asked if they were interested in sending me a copy of the cd for review (to date, this has been the only band i've done that for, so don't get your hopes up.). they agreed and told me that once they get them, they'd send one to me.
fast forward to now, where i've been listening to the cd a hell of a lot, and everytime i listen to the cd, i like it more than the previous time. to describe i spoke's sound, it's primarily screamo, or hardcore/emo, with a notable comparison to saetia, only these guys seem to be a little more dark in their sound. they utilize the best elements of hardcore and emo to create this beautiful, yet soaring sound. using dark, yet melodic rhythms, i spoke slowly builds up their sound. then suddenly, the band goes from quiet and melodic, to harsh, distorted, and soaring parts with screaming yet pained vocals that tend to follow the path of the music. kind've sung and anguished, then kicking in to raspy screaming. the band manages to stay melodic even during their louder, more distorted parts by adding melodic leads over the rhythm guitar parts.
overall, this is an excellent release. i expect big things to happen for this band soon, as they have the talent and the passion in them that will carry them far. a great first release for overman records, and a great EP for i spoke. pick this one up if you have the chance!"
