Artist History A good song contains all the elements of art. i studied painting and sculpture in college. i constructed human-scale outdoor sculpture from steel, concrete, timber and blacktop patch. the knowledge i gained about form, rhythm, color and composition directly translates to songwriting. After college, i moved to l.a. to pursue music. i was in bands. i was kicked out of bands. i was afraid of girls and riots and shopping but i loved loneliness and isolation and hated fun things so I wrote plenty of songs. some were good and some were bad but they were all important. I played lots of shows. i felt awkward and necessary at the same time. i was charles bukowski minus the whores and the racetrack. people responded to my music. i was always a central character in my songs but then so was everyone else. Producer rob laufer caught a show and wanted to record some songs. we both dug randy california so we started a band. i love the lonely melancholic sounds of slide guitar and harmonica. i try to put them in every song. I want to put out an important record with a forward thinking label. i want to tour. I don’t care about money. I just want to write more songs with big choruses.
