Artist description
Benita Kenn (http://www.benitakenn.com ) has been writing and performing original music for over 25 years. Born in NYC, raised in Fort Lee, NJ, Benita found her "true" home in the SF Bay area where she's lived for 11 years and performs both solo and with her band Peregryn for enthusiastic audiences at music festivals and local San Francisco Bay area venues. Her first CD, Roads, co-produced by the incomparable Joe Weed, is scheduled for release in the late Fall of 2002 and features the talents of musical luminaries such as Nashville guitar great David Grier, multi-instrumentalist Joe Craven, Nickel Creek's dynomite bass player Derek Jones, harmonica virtuoso Norton Buffalo, Celtic finger-style guitar wizard William Coulter and award-winning world-class mando player Radim Zenkl. |

Artist History
Benita Kenn started singing before she could talk, and has been playing guitar and piano since the age of eight years. She began writing music when she was 16. From New York to Boston, then at venues all around the Northeast, Benita eventually made her way across the country and is now a highly-regarded part of the San Francisco Bay area music scene, performing original music and traditional celtic and folk music solo and with her band Peregryn. |
