Artist History
Born in a mining town in New Mexico to parents who were both musicians and singers, Robin James has music in her soul.
Performing professionally since 1997, she has continued to gain a large following with fans who believe she is on her way to stardom. "When I performed at the 'Sunshine Festival' in 2000, I was surprised when a man walked up to me and told me he believed I was going to be a star and handed me a check," said James. She performed at a 'sold out' concert at Milagro's (Alamosa, CO) last year, and has been making her ascent into the music business by finishing her first CD in December 2001. "It was enriching, to work with Don Richmond (Howling Dog Records, Alamosa, CO) during the recording of the CD, and I learned what a great guy he is. I learned a lot from him," said James.
Gaining the respect of many other seasoned musician's, she has also been a backup vocalist with Don Richmond on his new CD, No Man's Land, released April 27th. "Don Richmond has been such a great encourager to me, I feel so lucky that someone like him and so many others believe in me," said James, "that's so important."
"As a songwriter, I feel the songs come directly from the heart and soul. I've been told that the songs on this CD are powerful. The ultimate compliment for a songwriter or singer, I think, is knowing you've touched someone."
Her CD, Green Winter, includes songs written by James, Dominic Shaffer, and Dianne (James) Lockhart. |
