Artist History Incidentally, Runt Like Mite would never have formed without a touch of fate, the advent of New Jersey, public access television, and a severe case of cabin-fever-induced boredom. One fine, spring day of 2002, while watching a public access channel for logical reasons that remain unbeknownst to himself ie..lack of anything better to do, Arthur (front man) stumbled upon a local broadcast out of one of the town's resident high schools, J.P. Stevens. Its Percussion Ensemble was holding a festival in which Brian (lead guitar), Blase (bass), and Steve (drums) were playing the song "YYZ" by Rush. They kicked butt. Arthur knew immediately that he had found his guys. As a J.P.Stevens alumnus and a singer/songwriter in dire need of a band, Arthur made a few queries and phone calls. Soon thereafter, everyone was in Steve's basement, talking shop, eating White Castle and learning Arthur's songs via an overly reverbed Karaoke machine and a jacked-up acoustic guitar plugged into the MIC 2 slot. A couple of chicken rings and a whole mess of feedback later, Runt Like Mite was born. After a couple of solid rehearsals and a PA upgrade to boot, Runt Like Mite made the decision to record. During the months of June and July of 2002, the band headed to Suburban Soul studios in Highland Park, NJ to lay down their ten track LP entitled TOTAL REQUEST and slated its release for mid-September, 2002. Highly energetic, musically focused, and always sure to please, Runt Like Mite will be supporting their debut LP by playing the tri-state area regularly, so be sure to check back here, drop on in and check them out!
