Artist description Freekbass is the man and the band, managed and produced by Bootsy Collins. Freekbass, the MAN, is the bass player, singer / songwriter, frontman for the turn of the century funk band, "Freekbass". While Freekbass was already known for his bass chops, it was his live show that started the buzz. The combination of his infectious energy and teeth-gritting facial contortions, word began to spread about this "freek" that plays "bass".

Artist History "Freekbass", the BAND, is a collaboration of players who complete the live-show experience. Each member is an essential part to the Freekbass sound, incorporating his own unique style. In June of 2001, they released Body Over Mind, an expression of nasty bass grooves, combined with influences of hip-hop, dance and rock. The album has received favorable reviews from the US and Europe, receiving recommendations from Bass Player Magazine and Bass Frontiers Magazine. Though Body Over Mind is funk at the core, it has touches of individual personalities, each member contributing to the co-writing on various tracks.

Group Members The Freekbass sound began as solo recording project in Freekbass' recording studio in 1998. In 1999, he put together a live touring group, which today includes keyboardist Aaron Mahoney, drummer Swift, guitarist Sean McGary, and sax player "J".
