Artist History
Nick, Ben, and KV have been together since the beginning of their union. They started out with a different singer in a band called The Droogs. It quickly fell apart because of strong dislike towards the singer from the other members of the band. The band Yuck was then formed, and yes, they know the name was bad. It was mainly a bonding and growing time for the members who played as a trio because their fourth member, Nevada, was away for the summer. Yuck later turned into Fiend with the coming of Nevada back for the winter. Fiend grew a local following and gave the members a taste for the stage. After some turbulence with Nevada, a new member arrived, Hawkins, to fill in the singer/guitarist/bassist slot that was open. The name was then changed to Copia in reference to cornucopia and copious. It was a hard position to fill because of the closeness of the other members and soon Hawkins eventually went his separate way because of strong musical differences. It was then decided that the music of the band should be left up to the three long living members and a singer would be put into the mix because of the one element Copia lacked: Vocals. Jerry Williams was the ideal man for this position. There had been previous talk about having him in the band because he seemed to be on the same level as the rest of the current members when it came to performing and writing music. The only draw back was he had another band, so Copia’s members were hesitant at first to ask him. He quickly accepted once prompted because he thought the music to be “amazing” and found their chemistry’s to be more than compatible. They quickly found that they were right in their choice and the level of creativity within the group has been growing. Innovation is a key word in the description of Copia. |
