Artist History Multi-talented guitarist Brian Baggett first made a name for himself in Einstein Electric, a Lawrence-based jazz/blues/funk fusion band. He studied jazz at Washburn University, has performed with some of the world's top jazz musicians including Frank Mantooth, Bob Mintzer, Danny Gottlieb, and Steve Houghton, and has contributed his talents to albums such as ex-Malachy Papers bassist Bill McKemy's "Duende," funk/jazz group The Yards, and the soul/jazz Embius Trio. His playing has been compared to Santana, his first album, The Cosmic Imperative, honored as "highly innovative and skillful", his first group hailed as Phish's heir apparent, and at the ripe age of 27, his latest solo album has been compared to Pink Floyd's The Wall, The Who's Tommy, and Styx' s Kilroy Was Here. Brian Baggett Band, the live band, assembled from members of the Midwest's most accomplished ensembles, will begin performing The Web this winter. An animated film to correspond with the live performances is currently being developed.
