Artist description BigHair Surprise was formed in 1990 in Gainesville, Florida by Michael Menet, David Menet, Chuck Tillman and Allana Callaway, all graduates of the prestigious Lake Wales Highlanders School. With diverse influences such as The Velvet Underground, Minutemen, Prince, James Brown and The Beatles, BigHair Surprise created music simultaneously strummy and funky. When Tillman left the band, he was replaced on drums by Josh Green. Singer, songwriter and guitarist Ned Davis also joined the band at this time. This all-star lineup was in force during the glorious Gainesville funk/rock explosion of 1991. When the band broke up, members pursued graduate degrees, respectable careers, legal practices and bluegrass. These highly collectable songs, only available here on MP3.com, are good to listen to.
