Artist History
After having served his time as a contributor of
a large number of Philadelphia bands (name one and
he was probably in it), Dave Calamaro set out on
his own.
The result is Aquaport, a refreshing mix
of pop/rock with major indie credentials. Lyrics
that actually tell stories, rather than complain
about how one's parents screwed one up (which Dave's
parents never did). Vocal and instrumental hooks
that stay with you for days, rather than the
"chinese food disease" that attacks so much of
today's so-called "rock music." But don't call
this emo (if you did, you'd call The Who emo. And
Roger Daltrey will come to your house and slap
you for it). It's just damn good all the way
around.
Enjoy songs from "Coming of Age Stories", recorded
over a 3-year period at Philadelphia's Indre
Studios and featuring Dave Calamaro on vocals
and guitar, David Schneck on lead guitar and
backup vocals, Scott Tyson on bass and backup
vocals, and Michael Comstock on drums. |

Press Reviews
Aquaport's got a few.... if only we could find
them. Philadelphia Weekly focused on Aquaport's
amazing performance at the 1999 Philadelphia Music
Conference at Indre Studios. Unfortunately, the
Weekly's web archives doesn't have the article.
But we'll keep looking! |
