Artist History
Updated October 2003.
To The Point has made their mark on the Saskatchewan music scene by playing live across the province, including many in their hometown of Regina. After nearly two years, JP (guitar/vocals), Chris (drums), and Jeremy (bass) recorded four original songs at Underground Sound in Regina, November 2002. This second demo has been sold at live shows and can now be downloaded online. The demo was also mailed out to industry contacts and record labels, generating mild interest.
JP`s songwriting and singing continues to improve, both lyrically and melodically, compared to the band`s previous recordings. JP is the one-take guy in the studio. His voice is strong and fluid, often surprising people when performing live. You`ll see a short, skinny guy taking the stage by storm! JP also writes all of his own lyrics for To The Point`s songs.
To The Point now has faster and tighter sound, which is sure to please fans who like punk music, with pop-sensitivity, mature lead vocals, and catchy rhythm. Accomplishments include playing every hometown venue that can handle To The Point`s sound, travelling across the province several times, and receiving local radio play and television coverage. Also, Radio306.com named To The Point as #8 of the Top Ten Prairie Artists for 2002.
The summer of 2003 included several shows away from home, including four festivals and a week-long tour with dates in Alberta. The band`s future plans are more live shows, more exposure, and getting their music noticed. The recording of a third demo is scheduled for November 2003. Media coverage and more information on the band is available on their official web site.
