Artist description let's begin. the grey lights are logan, travis, yost and kevin. logan writes the songs, plays guitar, and sings (kind of?). travis plays drums and might sing. the bass plays yost. and kevin plays guitar too, he and logan split lead/rhythm "duties." as far as the actual music, we're all pretty big classic rock and "indie rock" (shudder) fans, though travis and yost tend to lean more towards the former and logan and kevin towards the latter...but like i said, we're all fans of all of it. the latest recordings are the first with the whole band, and they've been described as sounding like early Of Montreal, though i would add a Built to Spill comparison as well. in any case they're pretty good we think. we'll try to add info about shows and whatnot as that becomes available. email lwalters2@emich.edu for booking/buying a cd info.

Musical Influences influenced by most everything, especially a healthy dose of underground rock circa 1991-Now. #1 music influence is of course Malkmus (Pavement), but currently i've been really into the Oldham/CatPower/Dylan side of things. also of extreme importance: the Microphones, Elephant 6 co, the Flaming Lips, the Velvet Underground, Fred Thomas, and too many more to list.

Artist History started post-rosenburg as a new way to preform/record songs. the first Grey Lights show was at Mugs in Ypsilanti, and it featured logan on guitar and kevin on drums. travis also played the melodian a bit and yost was sleeping on stage as well. sometime after this travis bought a drumset, kevin was switched to guitar, and the bass took up yost.
