    Artist History
Now one of the most popular bands in Central Florida, Curb 60 began rather modestly on a Sunday night in July of 2000 when vocalist Kenny Martin and bassist Rick Jorgensen dropped by a local club to see guitarist Dave Smith’s band. The night was a little slow, so Kenny and Rick were asked to come up and do a few songs with Dave and drummer Reed Hayes. The four were friends, but had never played together as a full band. The boys hammered their way through a dozen songs and later wondered why they had never thought to do this sooner. The club manager was so impressed he invited the “newly formed band” to come back in two weeks for a regular Sunday night gig. Over those two weeks the band learned thirty more cover tunes and came up with the name “Verge”. Verge played their Sunday night gig for a few weeks and during that time drew interest from several other local clubs. They were soon being booked at every local “A list” live music club in the area. They continued to play as a cover band for the next year or so, all the while building a great fan base. In September of 2001, Reed Hayes amicably left the band to pursue other interests, and Eli Pedone was brought in as the new drummer. Almost immediately they gelled as a band the original music started to take shape, Verge became Curb 60, and the search for the right person to produce their original CD began. They held out for a few months and their patience was rewarded when in May of 2002 the band began working on their CD in the studio of Brett Hestla. Lead singer for the band Virgos and touring bass player for the band Creed, Brett had also built a reputation for his producing skills. In July of 2002 Curb 60’s debut CD went on sale at their shows. Over the last few months they have sold an impressive number of discs while playing to packed venues such as The Hard Rock Live, the House of Blues, and The Social in Orlando, and have also received airplay on “Real Rock” 101.1 and 104.1, two local radio stations.
