Press Reviews FOR RELEASE - Through the gift of music and a dream to assist local and national charities, the song “CHILDREN LEARN” written by Rick McSwain and vocalist Dave Edmisten was born out of the tragic events of of Sept. 11 After many heartfelt prayers and soul searching for answers, Rick McSwain began to write the most powerful song he had ever attempted. A song that would embrace the feelings he was experiencing on that tragic day. Five hours later spent at the piano the gift was complete. McSwain refers to the song as a “gift” that came to him specifically designed to give back to children , a cause very near to his heart. McSwain has set out to help raise money for “ Victory Junction Kids Camp” a special camp for special kids with health care needs founded by Kyle and Patty Petty in memory of their son Adam Petty. The song symbolizes Americas strength in troubled times and brings new realization to where our futures lie , in our children. The song begins with an innocent but straight forward message narrated by McSwains 11 year old daughter Breana, which sets the tone for vocalist Dave Edmisten. Describing Edmisten as a seasoned performer is an understatement. The compassion and heartfelt sincerity you will hear in his vocals are his key signature.
