Headlining the show was the Broken Word, a group of guys from across the country that joined at Berklee. Performing with their new bassist, they rocked, and I mean ROCKED the stage. The Broken Word showed up with some of their fanbase which showed their support throughout the show and their set, crowding at the stage when they were ready to perform. Even after losing their drum pedal about 5 minutes into their set, the Broken Word kept up spirits by talking about their website and adding comical humor, while the Plain White T's gave up their pedal. Once the band started up again though, the walls almost came down. Lyrics, and emotion all in one, mixing with a truly genius blend of guitars, bass and drums was what the Broken Word put forth into the audience, and didn't leave one person in the room unturned. Along with Frontman Dave Bowicks incredibly heartfelt voice, you could also be mesmorized by the strong backup vocals of guitarists Aaron Dishner and Graham DeYoung. An especially favorite part of the show for me and my guest was when Broken Word covered a Foo Fighters song; followed by guitarist Aaron Dishner, who happens to bear a striking resemblance to the Foo Fighters frontman, saying "yes i know i look like Dave Grohl, so ha ha." You should defanitely check out some songs at Mp3.com, including "Fall Onto Them", and "Paint"; and also check out their rockin website as well. So the Broken Word officially turned me into a fan, as I'm sure they did to many others in the audience. And if you're cool like me, you will check them out at their next show Headlining at TT the Bears Place on April 22nd, with Orange Park, A Wish for Fire, and Busker.. I highly recommend it. -http://www.amander.com/nakedliving
