Artist description
Since 1996, Tentilfour has shaped and reshaped the boundaries of their music. When asked to describe their unique style, lead singer Ethan Stewart says, “Fusion fun for everyone--rock, funk, jazz, hip-hop, metal, jam band. We embody multiple styles while managing to stay digestible and infectious.”
Since January of 2000, Tentilfour has independently released the albums Autobiography and most recently Come to Life EP. The band’s lineup and its music have changed dramatically since their debut release but still deliver the same unique style that fans have come to expect.
Tentilfour has enjoyed many opportunities locally as well as nationally. They crushed the audience at 99X Big-ger Day Out, one of Atlanta’s biggest concert events of the year. They were named the best local band of 2001 in the Southeast by Jim Beam and received 2nd place in the Jim Beam Rock Band Search national finals in Denver, Co. They recorded Run-DMC’s Christmas in Hollis for the 99X Christmas compilation. It was placed in regular rotation on 99X and Q100 becoming one of the most requested songs on the disc. Most recently, Tentilfour opened for N.E.R.D. and Hoobastank at Atlanta’s Downtown Rocks.
Creative Loafing has counted Tentilfour among Atlanta’s “promising new locals.” WRZK 95.9 FM in Tennessee describes the band as “part of a new movement of emerging rock and roll,” and “to expect great things from this band.” IndieMusic.com has proclaimed “As Tentilfour continue touring, I think they will hold on to their strong following and also have the ability to pick up others along the way through their wide array of instruments and sounds.” Jim Beam believes “These guys have mastered the art of solid, ear-catching, good-times tunes, sculpting a funky fusion of rock, jazz, hip-hop and pop.”
Tentilfour has systematically gained momentum and has built a strong regional fan base, playing shows in Georgia, Florida, Alabama, the Carolinas, Louisiana and Tennessee, as well as Pa. And N.J. They have played with such bands as Hoobastank, Mandorico, Ratt, N.E.R.D, Something Left After Misfortune, Soup, Sick Speed, Outshine, Dog Fashion Disco, Slangbanger, Smugface, [minus], and L.OA.
