    Artist History
Naamah came into being in June 1996 in Warsaw. At that time the band composed of three members: Adam Kaliszewski - guit., Michal Owczarczyk - keyb. and Pawel Slusarczyk - drums. After same staffs' changes and live appearances the first stable line-up was created. Thus in the 1997 Naamah was: Anna Panasz - voc., Adam Kaliszewski - guit., Michał Owczarczyk - keyb., Marcin Smolen - bass Marek Kulakowski - drums. After few month of common performance Michal and Marek had decided to leave the band. Finally two new musicians joined Naamah: the drummer - Tomasz Grochowski and the bassist - Marcin Stasiak. Marcin Smolen changed instrument to a six-string guitar and in this classic-metal line-up band had recorded its first demo-CD called "Magia" ("The magic"). That CD includes intro and four tracks of atmospheric doom/gothic metal. In the end of 1999 Marcin Smolen had left the band and Mikolaj Szalkowski (guitar) took his place. At that time Naamah gain new keyboarder - Krzysztof Szalkowski (Mikolaj's brother). After many better and worse live performances, the band decided to enter DBX Studio (Warsaw) to record first full-length CD. Shortly before started to record violinist and vocalist Marta Frakstein had join the group. This album called simply "Naamah" is available from September 2000 and contains about 40 minutes of gothic metal with progressive influences. On the "Naamah" CD we can also hear three more vocals: Ewa Frakstein (Marta's mother) - soprano, Jacek Melnicki and Zwierz who made the album more entertaining. Soon after recording of "Naamah" Tomasz Grochowski left the band and Krzysztof Szalkowski (former keyboarder) replaced him. Afterwards Darek Ojdana took up Krzysztof's function. New keyboarder hadn't stayed long and finally was replaced by young, promising Adam Szewczyk. In the late october Marta had left the band (she came back in july 2002). Nowadays the music of Naamah is more into progressive rock/metal than into doom or gothic metal. Technical guitar parts and fast keyboard melodies are making the music more captivating and powerful. At this time the band is looking for a record label to release "Ultima" CD.
