Artist description
Four young men together can be a very dangerous thing, just ask a female star of a DVDA video! Four young men with a bit of talent can be yet more dangerous, just ask..........erm someone who's fallen foul of four young men with a bit of talent. What can be even MORE dangerous is four young men with time, a smidgen of talent and the ownership of musical instruments. This disturbing fact was discovered by the good people of South Lanarkshire in Scotland in May 2001 when BĖRD made their debut at Harley'sBar in Hamilton.
Since this day which will forever live in infamy, many things in the world have changed; the political climate, the size of Britney's breasts, the reduction in size of Mars Bars (Bastards), and also the make-up of the BĖRD. As the Spice Girls sang that famous Christmas of love and joy, 'Four becomes Three'....someone tells me we're not right on that but we were never the best with English, or numbers. ANYWAY. The BĖRD now happily exist as a nice little band of three, - we three, we happy three, we band of merry men - consisting of Alan 'the Maestro' Macdonald on lead guitar and vocals, John 'the beat master' Sneddon on drums and Marc 'The Frantic Fingers' Pollock on Bass guitar and attempted vocals BĖRD have quickly become established in the local music scene playing venues in Blantyre, Hamilton and Glasgow, boasting two nights in the legendary Cathouse Nightclub.
The BĖRD are about to enter the second phase of their so-called attempted career, entering the big bad world of Glasgow and beyond with increasing regularity, increasing quality of musicianship and material, and increasing levels of nonsense humour (gigs in pyjamas? Nude singer? Grass skirts?) and banter onstage. The BĖRD's blend of Rock, New Punk, Cheese and nudity has gone done well with most so far, some of whom ACTUALLY boasting the ability to hear! Always a crowd pleaser, be it through music or jest, the BĖRD always try their upmost to entertain;
"A bunch of talented musicians, with some crazy wacky ideas and they tend to go naked a-lot. But Funky music!!", says a music fan from the Hamilton area.
"the staying power of Duracel (tm) batteries and the wit of a fireman on fire", adds a youthful voice from Burnbank.
Need convincing? Curious? Then get yourself to the next Berd gig - we always deliver. (That's not fast food, mind)
