Artist History
Wishing Chair was started in 1995 by singersongwriter Kiya Heartwood and multi- instrumentalist Miriam Davidson. Kiya was co-founder of the band Stealin Horses.
But at the end of the day, its always about the songs. Kiya's lyrics are poetic and powerful and any subject is fair game: true love, shipwrecks, urban sprawl, union struggles, punk bars and 19th century poets.
The band's name comes from a rock formation in Northern Ireland where it is said you can sit and make a wish and your dreams will come true. That's what Wishing Chair is all about!
