Artist History Stefan Hallgren, the 31 year old Swedish singer/songwriter was born i SVEG in the county of Harjedalen in may 1968.Both parents were musicians at the time and he started to use his fathers studio at the age of 6. (His father has written one of Swedenīs most famous songs in modern time "Grat inga tarar")When Stefan was 10 he formed his first "band" with a couple of friends. Music became his full time occupation after completing his Military Service and at the age of 20 he went on the road for six years straight (1988-1994) With the rock/coverband "Kingen & Hallgren". The band also performed some of his own material with great success.After 800 gigs, he decided it was time to call it a day. He decided to become a composer/songwriter and give up life on the road. He got signed to "Sweden Music" (the same publisher that holds the "ABBA" catalogue) and started to write and record new music with lyrics in Swedish.(Sweden Music is now owned by Universal Publishing (US) and Stefan joined the new company aswell) Stefan says that "Itīs fun to write for other artists but when i perform the songs myself they "communicate" right from the source and the vibe between myself and the audience canīt be compared with anything else iīve ever experienced". Stefan has allso been working as a product manager in a big Swedish Internetconsultant-company and is developing new concepts for the new economy and the web.His plan for the next few months is to find a co-writer to write english lyrics for parts of his catalogue and adjust the profile of his songs for the US market. Heīs looking for contacts in the US to cooperate with at the moment.
