Artist description
Recording artist, poet, Bohemian, Sheryl Skye, is not your same old
singer-songwriter. A blend of folk, rock and blues, Sheryl's original sound
is addictive and healing. At first listen, "she hits you over the head with
a ton of bricks and makes you grateful all the while." (Cdstreet.com)
Without hype, Sheryl and her music are authentic...simple, yet multi-layered
and stunningly familiar. Sometimes raw passion, sometimes a contained slow
burn, it's Sheryl's live performance that truly unveils the essence of her
work. Her primary instruments are a Parker Fly guitar and an HD-28 Martin
acoustic. And to her audience's delight, when she reveals her classical
background on her 1966 Martin classic, it's absolutely mesmerizing!
With 10 successful independent years behind her, Sheryl has reached a new
level of maturity as a songwriter, performer and recording artist. Her new
CD, One Little Life, is available at

Press Reviews
.. . bluesy, jazzy and slightly smokey, the sultry singer almost defies comparison . . . perhaps a mix of Diane Schuur and Dusty Springfield. (Indie-Music.com)
Sheryl's voice . . . a growling sweetness that's so contradictory it's utterly engaging. (Rambles.net) Sheryl's music is contemporary and introspective, showcasing a strong voice and mature writing style. (Hunterdon Democrat)
It's rather easy to be seduced by Sheryl's vocals. (The Morning Call)
Fireflies is definitely radio material . . . catchy and well performed.(Rambles.net) |
