Rock band with touches of PopPunk. Songs range from uptempo PopPunk songs, to Emo driven Rock songs. Highly entertaining live show, with playful antics and a huge sound for just a 3 piece band. |

Artist History
Anthemic Choruses...Power with doses of Rock/Emo/Punk...Pop with layers of distortion...and Hit songs you've never heard before...Herein lies Neptune Thomas.
Robert Kinsler from the Orange County Register states, "The grooves are heavy, with melodic choruses sharing equal billing with rich layers of distorted guitars". Heidi Drockleman from Indie-Music.com adds, "Neptune Thomas, a band that I first became acquainted with in the summer of 2000, has managed to lure me back into their world of big California rock. Admittedly, I was willing to go...The songs are animated without sounding
cartoonish, invigorating without sucking the life out of you, and fun without seeming trite".
In 2000, the band released a self-recorded full-length CD entitled "TrashcanSuperhero".
The Cd documented songs the band had written since it's conception in 1994. After performing
in local Orange County clubs supporting the Cd, the band went back into the studio and
released "EP phone home" in March 2001. The Ep was a limited edition Cd with only 100 copies
made that featured five new songs, including crowd favorites "ScatterBrain" and
"Smells Like Lucky Star".
The band spent the next year pursuing other projects, but found their way back home in
June 2002. A new demo is in the works, as well as performances throughout the Western
Region.

Press Reviews
Michael Parker (Cdbaby.com) – May 2000...for a 'garage' recording, this rivals some of the best studio work around. Very strong CD with lots of punch. Highly recommended if you ever listened to STP, Nirvana, Pumpkins or Foo Fighters.Heidi Drockelman (Indie-Music.com) – July 2000…Neptune Thomas actually DOES have the Attitude to back up their self-indulgent style of California rock. And, eerily enough, the album crescendos all the way through to a killer climax in it’s closing number……I found myself rocking out a bit more ferociously to the entire last half of the disc, which is sputtered upon and kickstarted by a few earlier tracks, "Screen" and "Paralyze". "Despise" buries bands that don't know their instruments and how to execute the "less is more" approach; "Away From Me" belongs on a hit record; and "Fear of the unknown" leaks in some nice dirty guitar lines for added pleasure. What's key to this record, and what won me over, is Neptune Thomas' raw spirit and the energy that this disc gives off. |
