Artist description
One-man synth-groove hobbyist. Song styles vary, but usually reflect a sort of 80s-retro electronic synth sound. It's often hard for me to put genre-labels to my songs. Often upbeat and funky, sometimes slow and dreamy. Sometimes a bit Asian-flavored, sometimes funk-inspired. But always evolving, dynamic. |

Artist History
Following ten years of classical piano,I started composing and imitating other electronic musicians during my university years (1990 or so). Since 1998 I've gotten a new synth (Roland XP-80) and software, and spent a year or so being quite productive. My first CD has been recorded, and some of the music I've written has been used for my younger brother's film projects (he's in film school in Ohio). Most recently I entered RAW42's sample-remix contest, and I'm beginning to work on some more experimental film music for my bro's latest short film. |

Press Reviews
RAW42 gave me a good review! (http://www.raw42.com/raw/reviews/adrian_schubert.html). --------------------------------------------------------- 4.5 yaks from the MP3YAK in the electronic category! (http://mp3yak.com/indexELECT.htm). --------------------------------------------------------- SO MUCH TO SAY (http://www.somuchtosay.com) says: "The Spiral Oasis: Electronica with a blend of House and Ambient styles. The synth work has a Depeche Mode sound sometimes. It jams then the ending mellows with relaxing ambient sounds . Very nice work ! --- A" --------------------------------------------------------- LISTEN.COM described me as follows:"Deep-space Ambient textures and jazzy Neo-Electro beats influenced by everything from Funk to Chamber Music. Crunchy Meters-esque organ alternates with gentle, flowing piano arpeggios and snarling Acid synths. Sounds like: Plaid, Vangelis, Higher Intelligence Agency" |
