Artist description
In Hamilton (a small suburb of New Jersey)
Vince Sindora, and Nick Harris started off
by playing and writing songs in Nick's garage
and basement and in Vince's room. After a few
weeks they asked Andy Clarke to join as a drummer. They began practicing at Andy's house once or twice a month or less. Eventually, they began practicing once a week and played in the Reynolds Middle School talent show and sucked....terribly. Then, as the 3 got more into it they wrote several more songs and actually got better. They brought in Kevin Ott as a second guitar player. The day after Kevin joined they recorded. There were many problems and Kevin didn't stay in the band long. He was in the local band Unrecognized. These guys were cool have played shows with us well one show.
Then later in 2001 guitar player Mike Pasqua
joined as a second guitar player and lasted for
about three weeks due to differences between
everyone in the band. The Checkers returned to
a three person band. Mike Pasqua is the guitar
player and singer for Unrecognized. Also Dave
Reilly plays bass in Unrecognized and Ryan Lysy
plays drums. Check out their website on our links
page. Then some stuff happened over the next
months I don't remember exact details. Vince
quit and so did Andy at different times but
both rejoined.
Then they took in female vocalist Bridget
Clerkin. That didn't work out that well so the
Checkers went back to a three person band and
have been since. Were still friends with all
ex-band members. |
