Artist History Julie Dillon is a musician, artist, and activist based in San Francisco. She recently completed her first solo album, "It is Late", a collection of "gritty waltzes, whispered stories, and sassy rock songs" culled from her personal and vicarious life experiences. In addition to fronting two bands and self producing her recording projects, Julie is the founder of mamaelephant.org, a website dedicated to music and revolution that provides a cyber meeting place for non-profit music organizations. Whether belting out renegade rock tunes with her band, jimmy, or playing the more intimate songs that make up her solo repertoire, Julie has an unassuming yet commanding stage presence that exudes absolute joy.

Its charming spirit and laid-back persona belies the real-life Dillon, a true DIY warrior. Dillon fronts two SF bands in addition to her solo career. She also finds the time to run mamaelephant.org, a website dedicated to art and revolution that provides a cyber meeting place for non-profit arts and music organizations. On "It Is Late," the atmosphere is wistful, tired but grateful, knowing and funny, an attitude backed by Dillon's tuneful but world-weary voice. Definitely an album that will grow on you with time.
