Artist History
Joe’s musical education came from stealing songs and stories from the many road-worn acts that, week after week, rolled through the local beer joint his family ran. Every night he'd fall asleep to the sound of country music filtering up through the floorboards and every morning a new Merle Haggard, Charley Pride or Creedence Clearwater Revival tune would be stuck in his head. It's bound to have an effect on a kid. |

Press Reviews
As rootsy and Americana as anything Steve Earle has released. And a hell of a lot more fun, too. Joe shows a vast heartland influenece to his rowdy rock. He takes a left turn, though, creating intricate drum loops and employing a slightly disconcerting everything-and-the-kitchen-sink, almost-Phil-Spector-type production style, adding a bunch of bells and whistles to his songs. The interesting thing is the songs manage to shine through and are actually enhanced by these additions where most songs would just sound cluttered. I am sure the stone-cold-country set will feel this album has way too many loops for their taste. However, those who enjoy Edmunds, Springsteen, Ronny Elliott and the greasy, rootsy feel of Creedence will love these songs and appreciate their eccentricities. - Scott Homewood, Americana UK
