    Artist History
    Anita is a multitalented performer who was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She comes from a musical family and began singing and playing guitar at an early age. Family gatherings always had singing and harmonizing everything from current tunes to jazz standards. Her father, Bill Lee, sang with a popular fifties group called The Tune Drops and appeared on The Apollo and Dick Clark's American Bandstand. Anita spent most of her early music career playing guitar and singing in various bands and performing in clubs in New York and California. She has recorded with producers such as Bernard "Pretty" Purdy, Zeke Carey of the Flamingos, and Alan George and Fred McFarlane. Anita recently lent her vocal talents as a background singer on NooVooDoo's Holyland CD and with the gospel group Friends at the tree lighting ceremony at the New York Palace Hotel. Anita also took her years of experience in the theater and produced a highly acclaimed "Tribute to Phyllis Hyman" with Fatback Entertainment and has managed, produced, and performed in showcases at The Red Zone, Sweetwaters, The Cotton Club, and Savage. Anita was a feature actress and singer with The National Black Theatre beginning with the production of "The Crescent Tales. She then wen on to play keyboards/synthesizer and percussion for the award winning production of "The Legacy: Memories of the Gospel Song" when the musical director took a year leave of absence from the long-running production. When the musical director returned to the show, Anita went on to the stage as a cast member and during the 10-year run of the show and played nearly every major role. Anita was also an original cast member of the NBT production of The Song of Sheba" and was featured in the show's month long tour in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan, and has played featured roles of Bessie Smith, Dinah Washington, Sarah Vaughn, and a "Diana Ross" based character, the Lead Shebarelle. Anita also appeared in a "Tribute to Sarah Vaughn" at The Apollo Theater. "Getting involved with The National Black Theatre is one of the best things that happened in my life", Anita says. "Studying stage presentation, performing on stage, and attending workshops such as "Teer Technology of Soul", "Soulful Seduction", "Leadership and Life", and "Men and Women" has given me the opportunity to excel not only in entertainment, but in life." Anita also studied classical voice and guitar at Santa Ana College in Santa Ana, California. Anita is currently playing guitar and singing in the popular band "Sure Thing" and is writing and co-producing with several up-and-coming artists. Anita {the "A" in ACS Productions}, along with her daughter CaRissa Danielle {the "C"} and lifemate Smiley Webb {the "S"} is diligently pursuing her place in the music business, utilizing her management, production, and technology skills in their state-of-the-art studio.
