Artist History
Joven Grech, stage name DJ Joven,
was born on the 5th January 1982 on the island
of Malta and his family has a successful
background in music. From a young age he had a
real passion for music.
His music career started at the age of 15 when he
joined a community radio. His first radio show,
Music Invasion, was a success and after three
months the radio manager, has extended his
airtime with three radio shows, covering 6hrs in
peak airtime. Unfortunately a year later the
radio station, with his numerously growing
listeners, was robbed and had to stop
broadcasting. His passion for music grew even
more and his dream was that one-day he would play
in a local club. The dream came into reality
when two weeks later a friend of his who was a
club DJ asked him if he would like to play in a
club (Osiris). Without any doubt, Joven accepted
the BIG Deal. He started to perform in the
opening hours of the club and after two months
the owner had noticed he was doing really well
and took him to bigger club, Reeds, which was
much greater and more frequented by real clubbers.
He became a resident DJ of this club and he still
is. With his Trance and Progressive style he is
able to rock the dance floor within minutes and
he had performed with Malta’s top DJs and top
Foreign DJs like Gayle San, DJ Misjah, Pete
Bruelle and more.
Joven could not stop there, his passion grew even
further and he started to think about making music
. The first singles were recorded in the year 2002
--- “A Call For Freedom”, “Thinking of U”,
“T – Glory”, “Watching The Sun” and “Don’t Smoke”.
His passion and his liking of trying out new
things have pushed him so far and he still look
forward in this field.
