Artist description The music of AVIDOST is metal, pure and simple, but attempting to further categorize it proves to be a futile endeavor. The 2001 demo release "A Silent Masquerade" appealed to fans of progressive metal -- perhaps because of the five-to- seven-minute song lengths, the instrumental sections containing well-written guitar leads, or the occasional forays into unusual time signatures. The slow riffage and dark emotions appealed to doom fans, and the band was welcomed into the genre of female- fronted metal.
