Artist History
"Sensa" is a Tyrolian dialect slang expression meaning the harvester or sickle
wielder. The word "Sensen" means the sickle itself or the act of cutting the
grass or grain. In the context of this album it can also mean harvest, which,
of course, describes figuratively any musical collection.
De Kassian says, "Sensa" reflects my impressions of nature, especially the
effect the majestic mountains had on me growing up in Innsbruck.
The CD cover art by Georg Egger is based on the painting style of Albin
Egger-Lienz (1868-1926). He also saw the dark side of nature beneath all the
beauty and he had a profound respect for its power. Egger Lienz told his
students, "I go home because Mother Earth calls me. You should surrender to
her, because out of her grows all art, life and stability." |
