    Artist History
Scott E. Moore is a true renaissance man: a gifted musician, songwriter & performer; an accomplished televison producer/director; and as founder & host of The Writer's Hang, he single-handedly created a scene for modern acoustic arists of all genres. NYC/Hoboken-based artist & NJ native, Moore is best known for his "vibe-filled blend of folk & bluesy R&B." His performances are soulful & intimate affairs, where he takes the audience on a journey with his smooth voice, world-class guitar playing, and evocative imagery & stories. He's a modern acoustic artist whose style is hard to pin down. One European DJ said, "With Scott E. Moore, folk, blues & soul come together...a perfect blend of John Hiatt & Keb Mo." He has toured the US, sharing stages with an eclectic array of acts like Cowboy Mouth, Toshi Reagon, Kelly Joe Phelps & many, many others. Scott's music has been featured on alternative, folk and blues radio throughout the US & Europe. His 2 independent CD's, "Bridge & Tunnel" & "Songs for the Record," were each chosen by Performing Songwriter magazine as top indie releases in the country. In 2001, he released a live acoustic EP called "Live & In The Moment," and will release his long-awaited studio CD "Mr. Misunderstood" in the fall of 2002. As a television producer & filmmaker, Scott has directed music videos, and has won two ACE Awards for his music documentaries on VH1, working with the likes of Bonnie Raitt, Daniel Lanois, Gloria Estefan, Melissa Etheridge, Take 6, Bela Fleck & The Flecktones and many others. His video work has also appeared on TNT, MTV, Turner Classic Movies, Japanese television and many other networks. Moore scored the short film "A Dry Heat" -- the debut of up & coming filmmaker Susan Skoog ("Whatever") -- which was shown at 1995 Cannes Film Festival. In 1998, he contributed two songs to the soundtrack of "Flushed," an edgy comedy feature film which was distributed in the US & Japan in 1999, and recently released on home video.

"Scott E. Moore is a charismatic host with an eclectic repertoire..." - The Village Voice | With Scott E. Moore, folk, blues & soul come together...a perfect blend of John Hiatt & Keb Mo. - Dutch Radio DJ | Pay attention (Scott is) about to spill his guts to you, and the two of you are going to bond. All you have to do is listen. - Performing Songwriter | ...the CD has an atmospheric, almost red velvet feel, and leave the songs plenty of room to breathe...It is refreshing to hear a songwriter, who not only can see beyond his navel, but can also be cheerful...and humorous. - Dirty Linen |
