Artist description
An instrumental guitarist and songwriter, mostly recognized for the "tapping" method with which he plays many of his pieces (similar in style to popular instrumental guitarists such as Billy Mclaughlin and Mike Rayburn). Jacob also performs as bassist for "The Super No-Stars" and his own band, "Soundtrack to a Shipwreck." |

Artist History
b. 29 May 1982, St. Paul, Minnesota, USA. Jacob began writing music seriously during his high school years and eventually landed a few coffee-shop gigs, mostly as an opening act for friends' bands. The performances were well-recieved, and this eventually lead to the recording of a ten-track cd entitled "Far Off Places", which was finished in early 2001. Shortly thereafter began a period of hiatus from guitar music; Jacob continued to play but put more energy into other projects, including a band which would eventually become "Soundtrack to a Shipwreck". The primary goal of Jacob's musical ambition now is striking a balance between the band and his solo work, and trying to get both acts a foot in the door, so to speak. "I'm just looking for an audience", he says, "I'm going to keep writing stuff either way." |
