Artist History
In the spring of 2001 Good Iago(then named
skagasm) was started with only a guitar(Evan Losh)
drums(Ryan Humphreys) and a trombone (John Dolny).
Looking to expand they recruted sax player, James
Mitchell and eventually a bass player(Chris Garro).
That summer we were asked to play a small birthday
party but Chris was on vacation. Len LoBiondo
stepped and his quick understanding of the songs
bought him the spot of the new bass player for GI.
After a few months he lost interest. He refused to
practice so he got the boot. GI in need of a
bass suddenly saw the improvement of Mike Delo.
His interest in the band had been their from the
start but his lack of skill ruined his chances.
During the summer he practiced and got pretty good.
They finally accepted him and Good Iago(still
skagasm) was a band. Their first real show was at
The new Hamilton St Cafe under Flood City Ska.
After the show they received a live recording of
their performance and realized it needed a stronger
horn section. So Pete Zellen(the huge bastard), a
trombone player was taken into the band. They also
realized the name "skagasm" suck so they adopted
the name Good Iago. |
