Artist History
The beginning of Faces For Radio is very similar to their musical influences. Just like Guster and John Mayer, Faces For Radio began with some friends playing on their acoustic guitars in college. In the fall of 2000, two freshmen, Mike Reed and Travis Atkinson started playing music together on their acoustic guitars in their dorm at the University of Michigan. Not until their sophomore year did their friend Matt Reynolds join them. Together they played open mic nights across campus. Everyone seemd to love their first song, Donkey Kong, so they decided to start a band. Once the band was formed, they started playing more around campus and decided to record in the spring of 2002. Mike had been talking his friend Josh Hutchinson into buying a bass so he could join the band. Mike called up his friend Eric Kogelschatz at Michigan State University to lay down the percussion and drum tracks on the recording. Just before recording, Eric and Josh joined the band. |
