Artist History
Grew up in smalltown Virginia, fell in love with electronic music despite repeated urgings from townfolk that he was "gay" for listening to English synthesizer music. Took it a step further by getting first synthesizer in 9th grade, many embarrassing homemade tapes followed, and eventually Decker found a style that suited him.
Met Depeche Mode through Make-A-Wish Foundation in 1990 at age 14... Shawn was so nervous he could not finish eating a potato chip. Never thought he would one day grow up to be an accomplished, though slightly less heralded, electronic artist in his own right. Currently lives and performs for the local goths in Charlottesville, VA, where he outdrew hometown favorite Dave Matthews Band in 2001 (disputed by many, believed by few). |
