    Artist History
Once upon a time, Left Field (Bill Neely, Elizabeth Emmert, Deborah Griffin Bly, Bill Bly, Mark Dann) gave live performances of an eclectic mix of traditional and modern self-inflicted material. A distillation of those twelve years on the road can be found in our previous CD, LEFT FIELD: Still A-Live! We are hoping to "go live" again real soon! Since then, this already reclusive group of Neo-Romantic Radical Centrist Raccoon Room specialists has let the other shoe drop and gone virtual, taking up residence in the interstitial realm of cyberspace. Visit our web site at http://www.infomonger.com/ to find out what that means (so far). Our new recording is a 14-tune offering called Extra Innings -- and this time, for good or ill, it's *all* original material. These songs cover a wide spectrum, from a Neo-classical chorale ("Skeptic's Lullaby") to a road-house blues ("Mobian Waltz"); from the dreamy ("Pomo Sea") to the twitchy ("Toothache"); from a country nigtmare ("Ballad of Ingmar Bergman" to a breezy bossa-nova ("Happy In Bananland"). In addition, there's a joyous campaign song ("AlGoreRhythm.2000"); a tantrum ("Science & Technology, You Owe Us An Apology"); a lyrical vision ("Pollyanna in Exile"); a couple cabaret numbers ("The Ultimate" and "Night Is Falling"); and three gentle musical sermonettes ("Two Cheers for Moderation," "Pay Attention," and "New Beatitudes."
