    Artist History
The group consists of four members: Arieas “AJ” Lee, Deon “Black” Blanding, Melvin “Drop” Brummitt, and Mark “Markkie” Harrison. AJ, 23, from Chicago, IL, moved to Columbia by way of the US Air Force. He was part of a group in Chicago, but because his military station was so far away, the group lost touch. He wanted to continue as a performer, but did not desire to be a soloist. Black, 22, from Columbia, SC, began performing in his school choir. He sang in groups, bust wasn’t satisfied with their direction. He also was in search of a group. Markkie, 24, also from Columbia, SC, grew up singing in church. He loved gospel, but he wanted to sing soul. Drop, 23, moved to Columbia from Washington, DC via the US Army. He loved singing solo, but felt incomplete without a group. He met AJ through a mutual friend at a studio where they were both recording. They liked each other’s talent, and decided to form a group. Black was the maintenance technician at Drop’s apartment. He was crooning while working one day; Drop and AJ liked him so much, he became the third member of the group. Markkie was performing at a karaoke bar, where the three guys were meeting. They were so impressed by Markkie’s voice; he became the fourth and final member of Diamondz.

    Press Reviews
Diamondz presents harmony, soul, and meaning within this music release. This is one of the best coordinated independent R&B music releases I have heard, so I expect to be hearing this cut on the radio shortly.” -Disdain.tv “You guys really sound good and professional. I hope you make it big because there is too much non-sense on the radio today and we need more artists that have that smooth, mellowness like you guys do.” -Danielle (Listener from IUMA.com) “Your song {“Hold Me”] was like a breath of fresh air. This song put me in a really good mood, it just had that groove.” -Jai (Listener from IUMA.com) “I loved the music keep it coming.
