Artist description
More than a decade since Jim Klem convinced him
that he should dedicate his life to songwriting
and singing, Tim Pruden continues to expand his
impressive catalog of intimate and uplifting
country and folk songs. His relentless focus on
the clean and straightforward melody, combined
with an intelligent and sincere turn of phrase,
have sculpted a trademark honest style that evokes
comparisons with some of the greats of the past. The 1998 release of the CD ‘Spinner of Tales’, by the then acoustic trio ‘Harwill’, featured a 10-song collection of Tim’s original material, and marked his debut as a professional recording artist and producer.
With the release of his second CD, his first as a
solo artist, Tim has committed to taking his
career to a higher level as both singer/songwriter
and performer. With renewed excitement and
increased focus, the soon to be released
‘Once Upon A Time Ago’ CD will feature a
collection of Tim’s trademark originals. The
upcoming album, his second as producer, clearly
demonstrates the artistic and professional growth
of a rapidly maturing Canadian musical talent. |

Artist History
The son of an Irish-Canadian World War II veteran
and a Native Canadian woman, Timothy Frederick Pruden
was raised in the postal district of Harwill, at
the family homestead across the western border
from the Peguis Indian Reserve in the heart of the
Manitoba Interlake district. Raising horses as a
youngster with his father, the boy from Harwill
was heavily influenced by the work ethic of his
parents and the peculiar and varied musical
sensibilities of the rugged Manitoba country-side.
Since leaving Harwill at the age of 15 Tim has
traveled extensively, working at a series of full
time occupations while supporting his family,
he has honed his singing and songwriting gifts for
the last 25 years. His life has included
adventures that span a reckless gamut from several
years spent as a professional boxer and time
spent fronting cover bands, to years of experience
as a stage hand, scaffold rigger, restaurateur,
and Project Manager!
Now pursuing his musical goals on a full-time
basis, a healthier TFP, both physically and
mentally, prepares to challenge the future.
As the man from Harwill heads into yet more
uncharted territory, the words of one of his own
songs springs immediately to mind..."one more
chance is all I really need".
