Artist History Skye Pixton is a unique performer who plays fresh, contemporary acoustic music and enjoys a warm, fun-filled rapport with her audience. She performs most often with her sister and brother, both of whom are gifted musicians and natural entertainers. Their harmonic blend and spontaneous interaction on stage are borne from their being real siblings who have performed together since childhood. Besides writing catchy music and spicing up the show with humor and great energy, Skye Pixton seeks, through her art, to reach the deepest part of the soul, by touching and enriching it. The Early Years: Skye, along with all other Pixtons, started early with her music career. She has been singing onstage since she was in early gradeschool with her family in a group called the Pixton Family Singers (often jokingly referred to as the VonPixton Family Singers). All seven children and parents started by doing assemblies at elementary schools singing children's and folk songs and wearing matching outfits. Funny--- we know. This progressed into performing at retirement homes, church functions, private corporate parties, etc. Musical Resume: Skye studied piano and viola as a child, and finally began playing the guitar around age 16 (piano and viola are now history). She immediately was drawn to writing her own music. Her vocal background is heavily influenced by her experience in singing in vocal jazz groups and classical choirs. As a siohomore in college, she began also singing in the folk group, Sibling Revelry, with Courtney and Clayton, her sister and brother. Sibling Revelry performed for several years before the members went their separate ways. Skye is now pursuing a solo career, with the help of her siblings and friends. Outside the Music: Skye graduated from Brigham Young University in Humanities with English and Philosophy emphases. In the apparent absense in our society of high profile humanities firms, she proceeded to find work outside her field, where there is actual money. So she's a paralegal for her day-job. When she's not working or music-ing, she has several time consuming and expensive hobbies: She snowboards, wakeboards, windsurfs, oceansurfs (any sport involving a board is more or less divine), and rock climbs. She is an avid gardener and cook, so the music thing otten buts heads with her domestic side. She also directs a church choir.
