Artist History
Luke Leverett is a young singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from New Braunfels, Texas. His music combines pop and rock with elements acoustic folk music, creating a style not unlike singer/songwriters such as John Mayer and Monte Montgomery. As a performer, he is somewhere in between rock star and earnest folksinger. His strong, youthful voice is amply supported by his virtuosic guitar playing. Even at the young age of 18, Luke’s songs show an uncommon ability to write songs that move people. His melodies are well crafted, a testament to the music classes that he takes in school. In the past, he has played gigs at notable Texas venues such as Saengerhalle in New Braunfels and Cheatham St. Warehouse in San Marcos, where his music has been well received. Luke’s songs have even been heard on the radio on the Humble Time Radio Show.
Luke Leverett is currently promoting his debut album, All These Silly Games Called Love. It contains seven songs written by Luke. Each song is catchy and memorable. Highlights include “Somewhere Near,†“This Alone,†and Luke’s most popular song, “Rapunzel.†It was produced by Michael Coward at the Music Room in New Braunfels. This album was released in July 2002. It is just a taste of what is to come from this talented artist.
In addition to his solo work, Luke is in demand as a sideman. He currently plays lead guitar for up-and-coming singer/songwriters such as Jackson Parten and Jamie Blythe. His melodic playing and harmony vocals perfectly complement the artists that he backs up. Luke is also attending Texas Lutheran University, where he is studying classical guitar. He is heavily involved in providing music for church and chapel services.
Luke hopes to release another album in 2003, which will show Luke's increasing abilities as a writer, singer, and guitarist. |
