Artist History
Alex Noce, the man behind the musical superhero Blue Planet, has worked with children of diverse ages and backgrounds and has been a performing and recording artist for over ten years. Alex graduated from UC Santa Barbara with degrees in Environmental Studies and Anthropology. He has worked in South America and Africa as a Peace Corps Volunteer and as a consultant for other international conservation organizations. Alex is a certified teacher and has taught in inner city Los Angeles and other southern California schools. It was during his work as a bilingual teacher that Alex incorporated his musical roots to teach ESL to his Spanish-speaking students, and has since fallen in love with creating music and educational programs for kids. Alex speaks three other languages fluently; Spanish, French, and Portuguese. Blue Planet specializes in alternative music for kids. Blue Planet has evolved from the traditional kids music format (cute and soft programmmed arrangements) to all live instruments and musical sounds that range from reggae to punk rock, as you will discover on the new album, "Songs from Another Planet". Blue Planet's new music is a risky departure that few children's artists have undertaken. Blue Planet's goal as an artist is to nurture the idea that children's music does not have to be "soft and fuzzy", rather that it can be hard and abrasive, and still appeal to kids. Although Blue Planet would like to see the face of children's music change dramatically, he is dedicated to maintaining lyrics that challenge and inspire kids to be "superheros" in their own lives. |
