Music Style Definitely a fragment of rock.

Artist History 'Achilles' is a rock trio formed in October 2002 by lead singer & bassist Derrick Tucker. The purpose: to rock USC on Halloween night. In pursuit of this, Derrick brought in drummer Tyler Sabbag to lay down the beats, and Phil Adkins to enchant the masses with his guitar prowess. The trio first came together in a jam session at the beginning of the fall '02 semester. Derrick and Tyler had previously played together in a jazz combo in the Spring of 2002, and Tyler kept on calling him up and bugging him to come over and jam. Finally Derrick made the pilgramage to Tyler's apartment, and lo and behold, there was not only Tyler, but his 3 guitarist roommates eagerly awaiting the musical fiesta. Many creative projects are still sprouting from this initial meeting...but back to our main story. In early October, Derrick's company Beach Entertainment decided to put on a Halloween Show, eventually teaming up with KSCR Radio to hold it on the USC campus in front of Tommy Trojan. Derrick was booking the show, and one day the proverbial light bulb went off in his head. He thought, “hmmm…I’m putting on a show. We need people to play. I have music. So what if I play the show?” The rest is history. Derrick called up Tyler, who talked to roommate Phil. They quickly formed a musical partnership, hammering out a 10 song set in a mere 3 weeks. The trio performed glamorously at the Halloween Show, dressed as a fighter pilot, a ghost, and a multi-layered stripper, respectively. Since then they have begun recording a 4-song demo, due out in January 2003. They also made a surprise appearance Dec. 6th at the Cheshire Cat, an on-campus coffeehouse venue.
